Who We Are:
The 19 to Zero Story
19 to Zero is a dedicated coalition of academics, public health experts, behavioural economists, and creative professionals working to understand, engage with, and ultimately shift public perceptions around COVID-19 behaviours and vaccination.
19 to Zero was launched at the University of Calgary in August of 2020. The team leads the implementation of CONVINCE Canada (COVID-19 New Vaccine Information, Communication, and Engagement). The global CONVINCE initiative is the product of a series of global dialogues over the course of the pandemic with City University of New York School of Public Health, the Vaccine Confidence Project at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and Wilton Park, an agency of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.
As an independent nonprofit organization, 19 to Zero works closely with a broad, multidisciplinary group of partners. These organizations and individuals come from academia, healthcare, the public sector, private companies, and more to provide expertise across the full range of 19 to Zero’s activities. From polling and data analysis to healthcare worker outreach to mass communications and everything in between, this diverse coalition drives the work of 19 to Zero.
Our Funders & Sponsors
19 to Zero is an independent nonprofit that receives in-kind support, financial sponsorship funding, and grants from a broad multi-sector network.
Funding to support some of 19 to Zero’s activities has been provided by Canadian research-based pharmaceutical companies as unrestricted grants. The companies have no input into, nor influence over, any aspect of the coalition and its activities.
